Watch Out for KitchenAid Mixer Scam on Facebook
KitchenAid Stand Mixers are a wonderful accessory to any kitchen (we use ours quite a bit), but be leery of anyone claiming to sell them for $50.
Chris Veech with Eyewitness News reports that the Tri-State Better Business Bureau (BBB) is alerting residents to a scam making the rounds on Facebook offering the popular appliance for the aforementioned low, low price even though the normal retail price is anywhere from $250 to nearly $500.
According to the Tri-State BBB, the fake ads will pop up in your News Feed with instructions to either message or call the seller to make the purchase. The scammer takes the victims credit card information over the phone, charges the card $50, but never sends the mixer (because it doesn't exist, obviously).
If you, or someone you know, think you may have fallen victim to this, or any scam, contact the Tri-State BBB for assistance on the best way to handle it. And, if you really want a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, get one in person from a reputable source like a department or kitchen store, or through an online retailer like Amazon.
