John Anderson Reflects on His Life and Career With New Music
John Anderson is pure county. His voice echoes the county artists from the past with definite influences on some of today's top artists. When I hear Luke Combs, Blake Shelton or Eric Church, I hear the heart and soul of the stories and music John Anderson gave to county music. The first song I heard from him was Swingin. My dad, brother and I would be riding around in the baby blue Chevy pick-up singing that song at the top of our lungs. With every hit that John Anderson released, the truck may have changed, but our love of John Anderson's music remained the same.
At 65 years old, after battling some serious health issues, he is back with a song and album of honest and true reflection.
Here is the album track list. John co-wrote all of the songs.
1. I’m Still Hangin’ On
2. Celebrate
3. Years
4. Tuesday I’ll Be Gone ft. Blake Shelton
5. What’s a Man Got To Do
6. Wild and Free
7. Slow Down
8. All We’re Really Looking For
9. Chasing Down a Dream
His upcoming album Years, will be released on April 10th.
Below is the video for the title track from the album, Years. The song and video take a look back at his life and music career with vintage pics, poignant lyrics and incredible musicianship. As all great songs in county music do, the song touches your heart with things from real life that we can all relate to. The video plays out like his life passing before him. The visuals of dawn to dusk follow life's unavoidable path. The older I get, the more this song resonates with me. I feel you, John.
