According to FBI Crime Report, This Indiana City is One of the Most Dangerous in America
Here in Indiana, you won't find the same level of Hoosier hospitality everywhere you go. We know there is crime in every city, but some are worse than others. Which city takes the crown (or rather, the caution tape) for being the most dangerous? You probably have one in mind already (I did), and you are probably wrong (I was).

There are several factors you could consider when determining how dangerous a city is, and the crime rate has got to be at the top of that list. U.S. News & World Report compiled the official data straight from the FBI and released a list of the 25 most dangerous cities in America, which unfortunately includes one in Indiana.
Based on the metro areas’ murder and property crime rates per 100,000 people, determined by FBI crime reports, these are the most dangerous places to live in the United States.
This Indiana City Has One of the Highest Crime Rates in America
You have to head to Northern Indiana to find the state's most dangerous city, and no, it is NOT Gary. In fact, according to the most recent data, SOUTH BEND is the most dangerous city in Indiana and the 22nd most dangerous in America.
Fun fact, if you're wondering why the city is called SOUTH Bend when it's located in Northern Indiana - it's because the city is near the southernmost bend of the St. Joseph River.

To be fair, the crime rate (and this subsequent ranking) is just one aspect of life in South Bend. There are plenty of positives as well, including a low cost of living and a revitalized downtown and riverfront.
