On Saturday, my friend Katie sent a message to our book club group chat. She lives in Nashville, and WSMV Channel 4 News reported a possible road closure on I-24 near Joe B. Jackson Parkway. Because of a zebra "wreaking havoc."

Why Did the Zebra Cross the Road?

Now, I have never seen a zebra wreak havoc before. My first question, other than "Why did the zebra cross the road?" is "Where did this Zebra come from?" Apparently, the owner had just purchased said striped escape artist from a breeder and had JUST brought it home on Friday. Only for it to leave on this big adventure, not even 24 hours later.

Can You Legally Own a Zebra in Tennessee?

There is a whole list of exotic animals that are perfectly legal to own in the state of Tennessee. Even some furry friends you'd be REALLY surprised about. Camels, Giraffes, and yes, Zebras. Although you may want to make sure they are properly fenced in.

Escaped Tennessee Zebra Memes

Or else, your pet zebra may make international news as the internet goes wild with memes and videos. Everyone in the Nashville area is apparently loving this wild goose chase. I know there is a crew of folks searching on land and via drone to try a spot the zebra as it runs through neighborhoods and shopping centers.

But no, it is not really signing up for a library card.

Or getting margaritas here in Owensboro at Mi Ranchito.

It is still lost in Tennessee. Or maybe it isn't lost. Maybe it's exactly where it wants to be, having the time of its life with a taste of freedom. Really, though, we hope it is found safe and healthy to live out its days as a true legend. Authorities ask if anyone has seen the animal to call the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office at 615-898-7770.

Kentucky Office Stapler Goes on a Wild Road Trip in the South

Kentucky receptionist Candace Cleveland is very protective of her favorite stapler. It even has a "Do Not Remove Front Desk (Receptionist)" Post-it taped to it. Well, two of Candace's coworkers abducted her stapler and took it on an excellent adventure.
