The Newly-Updated Absolutely 10 Most Dangerous Places in Illinois

The fact is that every single city in America has a crime problem at some level. That one place in town that most try to avoid when they can. In Illinois, there are 10 places that have a bigger problem than most with violent crimes earning them a place on the 10 most dangerous places list.

Is it just me or does it seem like there's a new most dangerous this or most dangerous that list every other day? For the sake of simplicity, I wanted to focus mainly on violent crime. No doubt that property crime is a huge problem also, but stuff can be replaced. Human souls cannot.

This list was tabulated with a combination of the latest FBI crime data with help from statistics from Neighborhood Scout, Best Places, Area Vibes among other cited sources in the list.

Let me add an additional 2 cents of my own to this data. I've either lived in or near or spent lots of time in nearly all of these Illinois towns and cities. I've never had any issues because I was always careful to avoid trouble spots especially at night. I have several friends that still live in these places (like Rockford, for example) and they love their hometowns. Again, every city has problem areas. These 10 Illinois places just have issues that are bigger than most, but that doesn't mean they are overall bad places to live. Not at all.
