One of the hottest topics right now is the proposed consolidation of Evansville City and Vanderburgh County governments into one body. Both sides have very strong arguments in support of their respective positions on this issue. Advocates for both sides will speak tonight at a public meeting at the C.K. Newsome Center at 6:30pm in Downtown Evansville.

After each side makes it's case, there will be a question and answer session where all of your concerns can be addressed by both sides. Vanderburgh County Sheriff Eric Williams will make the case in favor of the plan and County Treasurer Rick Davis and Bruce Ungethiem will present the case against consolidation.

The biggest concerns about the plan seem to center around the impact on taxes and any possible cost savings. Tonight's presentation should be interesting to say the least and this will be your chance to be heard on this very important and divisive issue. More information from supporters of the plan can be found at www.yesforunification.com/ and Information from the opposition can be found at www.core2012.net.
