If you are dreaming of a white Christmas, much like Bing Crosby, the Old Farmer's Almanac has just released its 2025 Christmas Forecast, and you might be surprised by what it says.

It's only November 12th, and Indiana has already seen snow. It's not even technically winter yet. Personally, I am not a fan of the cold or everything that goes along with it, but my hatred isn't enough to keep the cold temps and snowflakes away. That being said, if it's going to snow, I'd prefer it to snow on Christmas. I couldn't tell you the last time I experienced a white Christmas. Probably not since I was a child. Perhaps that's one reason why Christmas hasn't felt too Christmasy the past several years.

Old Farmer's Almanac Winter 2025-2026 Predictions

Back in August, the Old Farmer's Almanac released its Winter Weather Predictions for the United States. Now, it's important to know which Farmer's Almanac we are talking about here. You might have heard that Farmer's Almanac was shutting down after its 2026 edition. That's the "new" Farmer's Almanac, which plans to cease operation after next year. The Old Farmer's Almanac isn't going anywhere.

Now that we have cleared that up for you, let's get back into the Old Farmer's Almanac United States Winter Weather Predictions. As far as Indiana goes, the state is broken up into two regions, the Ohio Valley Region and the Lower Lakes Region. It looks like the southern half of Indiana, in the Ohio Valley Region, will have a cold and dry winter. Meanwhile, the northern half of the state in the Lower Lakes Region will have a mild and dry winter. You can learn more about that by clicking here.

So, that being said, can we expect a white Christmas in Indiana this year?

Will Indiana Have a White Christmas in 2025?

The Old Farmer's Almanac broke down its Winter Weather Prediction to be more specific toward Christmas. According to the Christmas 2025 forecast, it's entirely possible that Indiana sees snow on Christmas...it just depends on where you live.

The Christmas 2025 Forecast from the Old Farmer's Almanac says that the Lower Lakes Region will be cold to very cold on Christmas. It further explains that there will be snowy periods, more snowy to the west, which includes the northern half of Indiana. So, expect snowy roads.

As far as the Ohio Valley region goes, the Old Farmer's Almanac says that it will be "chilly," with the majority of the snow in the eastern part of that region and a sunny west. You can't rule out some snow in southeastern Indiana, according to the Christmas 2025 Forecast.

I think it's important to keep in mind that this is simply a prediction, and no amount of fancy technology, atmospheric tracking, or whatever they use to create this forecast is 100% accurate. As we know all too well, the weather is wildly unpredictable and can change in an instant. However, if this prediction is correct, it's possible that folks in northern Indiana finally have a white Christmas...southern Indiana folks, well, probably not.
