Rock, paper, scissors....we have all played this game and continue to play it even today. Heck, a few years ago WKDQ held a big tournament with Bud Light sending the winner to Las Vegas to compete in the national rock, paper, scissors championships.....who even knew there was a national tournament? Some people even use the popular game to settle an arguement or to see who gets first choice for something. Is there any way to increase your odds of winning against an opponent? Yes...according to Richard Cook of University College London, who says all you have to do is close your eyes. Cook says our brains can't resist the urge to imitate others. Our decision to choose rock, paper or scissors is usually influenced by those around us. Cook conducted an experiment in which blindfolded players gestured immediately at the count of three, while non-blindfolded players gestured almost 200 milliseconds after the blindfolded player. So, the strategy is simple, close your eyes and you will greatly increase your winning percentage.
