Hostess just announced a massive recall on one of their most popular products...Ding Dongs.

We live in a world where it seems like there's a new recall practically every day. Whether it be a recall on vehicles, home appliances, food, or drinks, there are a lot of them. However, it's not every day that a recall comes along that I am excited to write about. Don't get me wrong, this recall is rather serious, but how often do you get to tell people that you don't even know to check their Ding Dongs for mold?

See...that's funny, right?!

Massive Nationwide Ding Dong Recall

Okay, I got that out of my system. Now onto the recall itself. Hostess has issued a nationwide recall on their popular Ding Dongs, which is a chocolate-and-cream whoopie pie that people have been indulging in for decades. This voluntary recall of Ding Dongs was issued due to the potential for the presence of mold. According to Hostess:

Our investigation into this matter confirmed a mechanical issue with a piece of equipment created conditions that could support the development of mold in the product prior to the expiration date. This mechanical issue was present for a limited period and resolved in a timely manner. As a result, only a selection of products are impacted.
