10 Health Benefits You’ll Get from Drinking Black Coffee
If you want to lose weight, reduce your risk of diabetes, and remember more stuff, then a cup of black coffee could be the key.
I drink 20 ounces of black coffee every morning. This has been my routine for the past three years, and the only thing that has changed in that time is the flavor of coffee I choose to consume. Recently, my wife and I bought a case of 100 pods of "Donut Shop" flavored coffee from Sam's Club, so I'm currently working my way through those. That said, I've also become interested in grinding my own coffee beans, so I will likely try doing that in the near future.
Regardless of how you like to prepare your coffee, you should definitely consider skipping the cream and sugar if you can deal with the bitter taste. According to Pharm Easy, a cup of black coffee contains several health benefits. For one, coffee is naturally rich in vitamin B-2, vitamin B-3, magnesium, potassium and several phenolic compounds. It's also naturally rich in antioxidants, including melanoidin. Further, when no milk or sugar is added, black coffee contains no fat or carbohydrates. Here are 10 health benefits you can take advantage of by drinking black coffee.

It's important to note that there can be too much of a good thing. In fact, drinking too much black coffee may lead to anxiety and even make it difficult for your body to absorb minerals from your diet. Coffee before bed is also not a good thing, as it can disrupt your sleep schedule. Pharm Easy recommends consuming no more than 400 mg of caffeine per day and putting the coffee down at least six hours before heading to bed. The ideal amount of coffee would be about one to two cups, and definitely no more than four cups in a 24-hour period.
