Hangers ‘Scooping for Students’ Goes Virtual for 2020
Each year, Hangers, the EVSC's Clothing Resource hosts a "Scooping for Students" fundraiser at Baskin-Robbins on South Green River Road, and invite celebrity scoopers to spend an hour or two of their day serving ice cream to customers. The scoopers ask for tips that are turned over to Hangers. But, as we know all too well, 2020 is not and has not been a normal year, so in the interest of public safety, the EVSC Foundation is making this year's event virtual.
What that means is that I won't physically be at Baskin-Robbins on a certain day at a certain time serving you their delicious ice cream and asking you to give me money. Which is a total bummer, because I really like ice cream and would have probably bought a scoop for myself for each one I sold. Kind of like "one for you, one for me" kind of thing. Instead I'm just asking you for money. But, the money, as I said earlier, goes to the great cause that is Hangers.
If you're unfamiliar with Hangers, please allow me to explain.
Hangers is located on the backside of the Academy for Innovative Studies at the corner of Diamond and Stringtown on the north side. Through generous donations like those I'm hoping you give me (I'll explain how to do that shortly), they provide clothing and hygiene products for students who need assistance due to financial constraints. Great cause, right? Right! Now, let's get to how you can help them and me.
Visit the donation page on the EVSC Foundation's website, and enter the amount you're willing to give and how often you're willing to give it. Options include a one-time donation, annually, semi-annually, quarterly, monthly, and weekly. After providing your credit or debit card information as well as your contact information, type "Team Ryan O'Bryan - Celebrity Scoop" in the Additional Comments box right above the Submit button.
Of course my main goal here is raise as much money as possible for Hangers because as the husband of a teacher in the Tri-State, I know there are families who need help, and I want them to be able to get it. But I also have a secondary, slightly selfish goal too. See, I can be a bit competitive, and I'm not the only one asking for your money. There are other Tri-State celebrities asking for too, including Bobby & Liberty from our sister-station, MY 105.3, as well as Ron Rhodes and Joe Bird from Eyewitness News. And I want to beat them in total donations. Not just beat them, but annihilate them.
So let's team up. What do you say? Hit the button below to make your donation to help Hangers, and help me crush my competition. Thanks!
