Every year, I look forward to the official start of the holiday season. For me, and many others, that official start involves the Hallmark channel's Countdown to Christmas.

I know, the movies can be a little predictable, and at times a little cheesy, but I love all of them. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I watch the Hallmark channel nonstop through Christmas day.

Three reasons I love Hallmark Christmas movies so much

1 - The beautifully decorated houses and towns.

Nothing gets me more excited about Christmas than the decorations. In Hallmark Christmas movies, every single set piece is decorated with the best decorations ever. I can sit at home and dream about what it would be like to be able to afford all those decorations and lights. AND, better yet, have somebody else put them up and take them down.

2 - All the love

I know it's all so silly, cheese, and sometimes poorly acted, but I really do feel better when I watch them. Romance always does it for me. When you add all the glitz and coziness of Christmas, it leaves me warm and fuzzy feeling all season long.

3 - Christmas cheer and lovey-dovey stuff brings inspiration

While sitting on my couch, under a warm blanket, sipping a hot drink, I can live Christmas romance through the characters. Then, I start dreaming up some of my own story lines. Right now, I have two that keep replaying in my head. One day, I'll write the scripts and send them into Hallmark.

This year Hallmark is adding a slew of new movies to their 2022 Christmas lineup. Here is a preview.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
