Gibson Southern Senior Shreds Guitar Like Hendrix
Gibson Southern Senior Wows Before Football Game
At the recent Gibson Southern High School Regional football game, senior Noah Bodenstein kicked things off in style. The senior played an electric, acoustic version of the National Anthem (also referred to as the Star Spangled Banner). Reminiscent of the 1969 Jimi Hendrix Woodstock performance, this kid nails it! When I first watched the video, goosebumps started climbing up my arm. Refresh yourself with this Jimi Hendrix clip from the classic Woodstock performance:
Unfortunately, I was only able to find one video of the performance, and it was not made shareable. If you'd like to see the stunning performance from senior Noah Bodenstein, nicknamed Bodie, check it out here: Gibson Southern Titans.

Interesting Facts About Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix is a legendary guitarist who rose to fame after his standout performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. A self-taught musician, Hendrix never learned to read music, meaning everything he played he learned by ear. I cannot explain to you how difficult this is; all you need to know is this is revered in the industry as a gift. As if this isn't enough to be fascinated by Hendrix's skill, he was a lefty with an interesting playing style. He played a right-handed guitar upside down. Yes, upside down. Before cementing his name in music history, Jimi was a backup guitarist for legendary artists such as Little Richard, Ike and Tina Turner, and Sam Cooke.
Other Impressive Electric Anthems
While there are several electric, acoustic versions of our National Anthem, here is another great version. This is an amazing version from Grace Bowers, who performed before an Indianapolis Colts game last year. Maybe I'm biased, but I still like Noah's best! Check her out here:
