Nation’s First LEGO Cafe Opens in Kentucky

I'm always impressed when I see the special LEGO kits. You know the ones...the models of, say, the White House or the Eiffel Tower. Or maybe one of the many Star Wars or Harry Potter sets. They blow me away.

When I was a kid, I would have loved to have simply created a reasonable looking one-story house, but even THAT never panned out. Still, LEGOs were a blast...at least until Mom stepped on one and I got the business end of a flyswatter.

The Brickery Cafe and Play -- a LEGO Cafe -- Opens in Northern Kentucky

Fortunately, if there are flyswatters present at the nation's first-ever LEGO café, they're probably just for flies. And that first-ever LEGO cafe? Why, you'll find that right here in Kentucky...in Newport, to be exact. It's called The Brickery Cafe and Play.

Crews and staff have been working feverishly to get this unique cafe and shopping experience open, and now the public can step in and see what a LEGO cafe is all about.

What to Look Forward To at the Brickery

I love the concept of the "Bricks to Go" wall, and I love seeing all these specialty LEGO sets that The Brickery is using for decoration in the new cafe.

LEGOs, however, haven't been the only concern. The Brickery has a solid selection of specialty drinks which they have been perfecting ahead of the December 1st opening.

Located in the Gallery at Newport on the Levee, The Brickery Cafe and Play--the first of its kind in the U.S.--will be the perfect place to unwind, let off a little creative steam, and, yes, SHOP. If you're in the northern Kentucky area and feel like a visit, The Brickery is open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 8 PM, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 AM to 9 PM, and Sundays from noon to 6 PM.
