Santa and Mrs. Claus will stop by the Evansville Wartime Museum this weekend for a fun-filled event featuring crafts, Christmas treats, and more.

Christmas is in the air. I'm not sure why, but this year just feels different — in a good way. Maybe it's because I've moved back home and am surrounded by familiar company, or maybe it's just because we got some snow over Thanksgiving weekend. Either way, I'm fired up for the holidays, and if you are too, then you need to make a stop at the Evansville Wartime Museum this weekend for the exciting Planes, Trains, and Santa Claus event.

This Sunday, Dec. 8, get your kids ready for a festive adventure at the Planes, Trains, and Santa Claus event at the Evansville Wartime Museum from noon to 4 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a grand entrance from the North Pole, landing at the Evansville Regional Airport at noon before taxiing to the museum hangar. You'll be able to watch as they step off the plane and take the stage to chat with all the excited children.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will speak to each child individually, but there will be plenty to do while the kids wait their turn. Christmas activity books and crayons will be available to all children, and the museum will be serving cookies, popcorn, and hot chocolate. Additionally, the INTRAC Model Train Group from Indianapolis will have their large model train set up, along with another train set supplied by a museum volunteer. Regular museum prices will apply to all attendees.

One More Thing...

On Thanksgiving, the museum posted an enormous thank you to the community for their support, which you can read above. As you make plans to stop by the museum this weekend, I encourage you to thank the many volunteers for all of their hard work as well. It takes a lot to pull off the events hosted throughout the year, and the museum always does a great job bringing fun and educational opportunities to our community. If you're unfamiliar with the museum, or simply want to stay up to date with museum events, you can check out their Facebook page by clicking HERE.
