Evansville's popular casino and hotel are being merged into Eldorado Resorts in part of a deal reported to be valued at $1.85 billion.

Carl Icahn, who has been in charge of Tropicana for eight years and is credited with a lot of the company's success, is reportedly leaving the casino business.

What this means for the hotel and casino specifically located on Riverside Drive here in Evansville remains unknown.  John Chaszar, General Manager of Tropicana Evansville, claims that he doesn't have any information outside of the press release sent out by Tropicana.  Eldorado's corporate offices in Reno, Nevada have not commented on the future of the Evansville location.

More information in the sale is available from the Courier & Press and can be found HERE.  Here is a tour we conducted of of Evansville's Tropicana Hotel!
