Deb Turner & Indy’s John Mellencamp
Some of my favorite CMA Award’s moments (and there were several) included Keith Urban and John Mellencamp’s performance of “Pink Houses”. Loved it!
I have been a fan of John Mellencamp ever since he was known as John Cougar. By the time Pink Houses was released in ’83, he was known as John Cougar Mellencamp. And today, he is simply John Mellencamp who was born and raised in Seymour, Indiana.
I can’t believe this picture of us together wasn’t in color! (Yes, we had color pictures back in those days). It was probably taken by a “record rep”, so I can’t complain. After a great performance at Hersheypark Arena, I had the pleasure of going backstage to meet John. At that time, he was on tour promoting his new album, “Scarecrow”. I thought he was pretty cool inviting all the DJ’s from our radio station to hang out & talk with him and enjoy a huge spread of food after the show! Great memories.
