Indiana Festival Has It All: BBQ, Brews, Live Music, and More

With summer within grasp, I'm definitely looking forward to checking out several of the upcoming festivals in the tri-state area. One of my favorite things to do during this time of year is call up my friends, pile in my truck, and head to the nearest fair or festival to enjoy some good food and live music. Having just moved back to Indiana, I'm looking forward to this summer more than ever.

I recently ran across a newer festival that I believe I may have put on my summer event list. The third annual Twin Lakes BBQ & Brews Fest is happening Saturday, July 20, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Twin Lakes Country Cabins in Derby, Indiana. This family-friendly event looks like it will have something for everyone. The best part? Admission is free.

The Twin Lakes BBQ & Brews Fest has several activities on tap, which will include a beer garden, a pie-eating contest, and even live music from local artists on a lakeside stage. There will also be several vendors in attendance if you want to do some shopping and mingle with local artisans. Additionally, guests can enjoy barbecue pulled pork, smoked sausage, and all the fixings cooked up by Marcys Restaurant.

Last year, the event saw over 1,000 guests in attendance, and I would imagine this year's festival might even see that number grow. Personally, I'm looking forward to the barbeque and especially the live music, as I love seeing local artists highlighted in the community. That said, I'm just happy to be back home, enjoying good food and music with all of my fellow Hoosiers.
