If your teens are texting you acronyms that you have no idea what they mean, you're not alone. These are Kentucky's most searched text abbreviations for 2026.

Growing up as a millennial, we kind of led the way with acronyms and abbreviations. That's because back in the day, when we texted our friends, we didn't have a keyboard on our phones. We had a number pad. That means to spell out words, we had to hit certain numbers on our flip phones multiple times to get to a single letter. That's why it was easier for us to just type out "OMW" instead of "on my way," or "TTYL" rather than "talk to you later." Yeah, kids...WE did that.

However, throughout the years, texting acronyms have changed. There are always new ones being used. I can't tell you how many times my teenagers have come up to my wife and me, asking us if we know what this acronym and that acronym mean in text messages. To be quite honest, there are some of them that they'll text or tell us about that I'd have to look up. I'm sure that I'm not the only one having to look up what they mean, either.
