Are You Planning to Go on Vacation This Summer? [POLL]

When planning our family vacation, we thought we would fly out west to visit my brother. But, the cost of flying was going to send us to the poor house. So, we decided to drive to Disney World. I know....STILL super expensive! We're crazy!!!

With high gas prices and a soft economy, many in the travel industry are fearing that Americans aren't going to take a summer vacation this year. How about you?

A Harris Interactive poll of 2,199 US adults suggests these worries may be overblown.

According to the survey, 87% of Americans are planning to take as many or more vacations this summer as they did last summer. Forty-two percent plan on taking at least two trips.

Overall, 84% of the poll’s respondents indicated that they would be taking a vacation. Of those, 94% plan on spending at least one night away from home.
