'Tis the season for haunted attractions, and one haunted attraction in Kentucky has been dubbed the scariest in the state.
This is the best time of year for a good scare. I'm told that the beginning of September is the start of the spooky season. One of the best ways to get a good scare is by going to a haunted house. Haunted attractions will soon be open everywhere. There's not a lack of haunted houses here in Kentucky. In fact, there are so many that you might not have been to the one with the best scares. When it comes to haunted houses and haunted attractions in Kentucky, there is one that stands out above all others. Why? Because not only does this place have its own haunted house, but it's ACTUALLY haunted. In fact, it's one of the most haunted places in the country.
The Scariest Haunted Attraction in Kentucky
Meltal Floss has an article about the scariest haunted attraction in each state. In case you haven't guessed by now, the most terrifying haunted attraction in Kentucky is Waverly Hills Sanatorium. As you know, this place is legit haunted. Waverly Hills is a former tuberculosis hospital located in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s been estimated that 50,000 patients died at Waverly Hills while it was open from 1910 to 1961.
Waverlly Hills offers public guided tours, private guided tours, public paranormal investigations, and private paranormal investigations. The Louisville sanatorium also offesr other events at different times of the year, including the Annual Haunted House event, usually on Fridays and Saturday evenings start dates may vary in September and will be every Friday and Saturday through October. As it turns out, Waverly Hills just released information on the 2024 haunted house, which you can see below.
While I am sure that the haunted house is terrifying, I can't tell you how much I would love to go on a real paranormal investigation at Waverly Hills. Some crazy and unexplained things have been found there in the past and I would jump at the opportunity to do a paranormal investigation to see what goes on there firsthand.
