Today is my 30th birthday. It amazes me how fast time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was playing with my Power Ranger toys in my bedroom. Now here I am...adulting.

While, it makes me cringe thinking that I am now 30 years old, I have learned quite a bit over the years. Some of these things I had to learn the hard way. Other things I picked up on along the way from people in my life.

Anyway, I thought I would share my "wisdom" with you since I have the platform to do so. I have found 30 things that I have learned about myself and about life over the past 30 years. Some of these things are funny, some more serious life lessons, but all of them are something that I feel everyone can relate to. Check them out:

  1. Everything pops. When I walk, sit down, or even stretch in the morning, the amount of popping sounds my body makes are unreal.
  2. Good luck trying to get me to pull an all nighter. I enjoy my sleep too much nowadays. Which reminds me...
  3. One of my biggest childhood regrets is not taking full advantage of nap time.
  4. My hairline isn't as close to my forehead as it used to be.
  5. Indigestion sucks!
  6. I make those weird "old man" sounds when I sit down or stand up now.
  7. Hangovers hurt way more than they used to back in my college days
  8. I say "back in my day" entirely too much now.
  9. I can no longer keep up with "kids" and their new slang words. Still trying to figure out what the heck a "fleek" is (probably not even a word they use anymore)!
  10. In all of my 30 years, I still don't know if Annie is okay or not...that's a Michael Jackson reference for all you kids out there who didn't get that.
  11. I grew up as an only child, but somehow along the way I have managed to gain a few brothers...but I am still the best looking one. You don't need blood to be family!
  12. Measure twice, cut once.
  13. I can't eat Hamburger Helper everyday without gaining weight anymore.
  14. I now have the same kind of conversations with my friends that I once thought were dumb and boring when my parents talked about them.
  15. I'd much rather sit at home with friends and crack open a cold beer than to go out to the bar. I can't keep up with those college kids anymore.
  16. Don't go out of your way for someone who wouldn't do that for you.
  17. They don't make country music like they used to in the 90's. Can I get an Amen?!
  18. It doesn't matter how old I get, I am still a kid at heart.
  19. Wrestling isn't fake!!!
  20. Don't be so uptight. Learn to take a joke. It's okay to laugh, ya know.
  21. If you don't want people sticking their nose in your business, don't post it all over social media!
  22. Keeping a positive mindset makes a world of difference in life.
  23. Life is short. Never take anyone for granted because we are never guaranteed tomorrow.
  24. The "Golden Rule" we learned about in grade school STILL applies even after school.
  25. "If you say you can, or you say you can't, you're right." Diamond Dallas Page
  26. I don't care what you say, pineapple DOES NOT belong on pizza.
  27. Never go to bed angry at someone.
  28. "You can't change anything by sitting at home on your couch complaining about it." CM Punk
  29. Every day before school my dad would always say to me, "Don't take any wooden nickles." I think I have finally figured out what that means.
  30. You're the only person that you have to live with every second of every day for the rest of your life. Do what makes you happy and take care of yourself.
