Before I reveal the results of the poll I want to, once again, give a shout-out to ALL of the amazingly talented students in these marching bands. They started working on their 2022 programs way back in the brutal heat of July and kept working to perfect that show all the way through October. For some bands, the season has come to an end - for others, the dream of a state championship is still alive. To the bands that are playing at the ISSMA Semi-State competition this weekend, MY105.3 wishes you all the luck in the world - and to all of the bands, we want to congratulate you on a great season. And now, for the results...

Voter turnout for this year's poll was even bigger than last year - over 108,000 votes were cast (clicked) for the 24 bands in the poll. That just reinforces what I already know - that marching bands in Southern Indiana are loved and supported.

The competition was close in the beginning - several bands bounced around and swapped positions in the top five. Eventually, though, a frontrunner emerged and remained at the head of the pack, and could not be caught. With more than 42,000 votes, the Evansville North Green Brigade dominated this competition, much like they have on the field this season. Here is a look at the rest of the top 5 vote-getters.

Even though it was 44 years ago, Winnie McConnell remembers January 20, 1977 like it was yesterday. That icy-cold day was President Jimmy Carter's Inauguration. The Princeton Community Tigers Marching Band had the immense honor of marching down Pennsylvania Avenue in the Inaugural Parade.

38 Celebrities Who Were Born in Indiana

There are a bunch of famous folks that everyone knows were born in Indiana, but there are even more that you didn't know about. Most of this list is arranged in alphabetical order, except for the handful of celebrities born in our neck of the woods here in southern Indiana. I gotta give them a little preferential treatment.

Postcards from Indiana's Past Showcase the Weird and Wonderful

Apparently, there is quite a market for old postcards on eBay. I found some really interesting ones, some even have handwritten messages on them. Basically, postcards were the original text message.
