For whatever reason, Grippo's BBQ chips and Ski are synonymous with Evansville...even though neither of them are produced here. When you think of the west side, those two things are one of the first things that comes to mind.

Bosse Field is one of the most historic ball parks in the country....and they filmed some of "A League of Their Own" there. Ask any Evansvillian what Evansville's claim to fame is, and that would be one of the most popular answers.

Yankee great, Don Mattingly is an Evansville native. Some would say that he is Evansville's Favorite Son. He used to have a restaurant on Evansville's east side called Mattingly 23, and he still gives back to his hometown with Mattingly Charities.

The Lloyd Expressway is Evansville's biggest road. It's an expressway with stoplights (which is weird), but it is also usually under construction. Everyone knows that if you want to avoid construction or delays, avoid the Lloyd!

One of the staples of the Vanderburgh County Fair each year is the Purple Cow. What is a purple cow? If you're from Evansville, you probably already know the answer. For those who aren't, it's basically a grape flavored milkshake...and it's delicious!!!
