I kill myself in the gym at the Downtown Evansville YMCA everyday. I have finally gotten to the point where I feel pretty comfortable and confident with my workout. I even attempted a few pull-ups the other day that I haven't done since high school. I couldn't do very many and talk about a confidence buster - the baby in the below video crushed my self-esteem.

They spend those weeks learning blocking, lines, character development, sometimes music; building sets, gathering props, making costumes, setting light cues, utilizing sound equipment and selling tickets. Through these tasks they are learning skills that are invaluable, skills that many of them will not learn in the class room. Countless hours are put in to meet a deadline. Unlike sports teams that have an entire season to try and perfect their game, students of theatre have one weekend, one chance to give you a winning performance.

On the morning show today, Leslie and I were talking about Downtown Evansville and all of the increased activity thanks to the Deaconess GLVC basketball tournament that started today at the Ford Center. We got on the topic of what downtown needs in the absence of something like the GLVC tournament to bring people downtown.
