The Memphis Wrestling territory of the 70's, 80's, and 90's rolled through Evansville every week, and one of the stars that made wrestling a hotbed in this area has passed away.  'The Fabulous' Jackie Fargo, the man responsible for getting Jerry 'The King' Lawler into the wrestling business passed away at the age of 85.

He was famous for being a legit 'tough guy' and flamboyant as well with his often imitated 'Fargo strut.'  He brought not only Jerry Lawler into wrestling, but also introduced the world in the 80's to the super popular 'Fabulous Ones,' Steve Keirn and Stan Lane.  He also served as the referee for the classic bout between Lawler and Curt Hennig in 1988, as Lawler won his first and only world championship.

Lawler Tweeted the following in memory of his idol
