Orkin just released its annual list of the cities with the most mosquitoes. As it turns out, one Indiana city is feeling it really bad.

Mosquitoes are a big problem this time of year in Indiana. I think it's safe to say that we all have been swatting those pests. Mosquito season runs from April through September here in Indiana. Typically, mosquitoes become active at temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. However, they require temperatures above 70 degrees Fahrenheit to truly thrive. They also prefer moist, humid environments. These are prime breeding conditions, and warm areas with heavy rainfall may see increased mosquito populations and activity.  So, with all of the heat and rain we have seen so far this season, mosquitoes are coming out in full force.

No matter where you live in Indiana, you can't hide from mosquitoes when you're outside. That being said, while you might find that there are a lot of mosquitoes in your neck of the woods, there's one Indiana city that I am grateful that I don't live in, because they have a much worse mosquito problem. It has one of the worst mosquito problems in the entire country.

One Indiana City Makes Orkin's List of Cities with the Most Mosquitoes

Coming in at number 16 on Orkin's list of cities with the most mosquitoes for 2025 is none other than our state capital, Indianapolis. Indy's mosquito problem has increased since last year, as the city ranked number 28 on the list. That's not good!
