Waverly Hills Sanatorium

Located in Louisville, Kentucky is Waverly Hills Sanatorium.  Waverly Hills is known for being notoriously haunted and is said to be a "hotbed" for paranormal activity. Part of the reason for this haunting reputation has to do with Waverly's history.

The numbers vary, but it's said that thousands died at Waverly Hills Sanatorium as it was originally a tuberculosis hospital.  After the tuberculosis epidemic was over, it was turned into a geriatric medical facility.  In 1981 Waverly Hills closed its doors.  Now the Waverly Hills Historical Society works hard to help preserve the historic landmark, and by utilizing its chilling history they're able to raise funds for their nonprofit which helps with the preservation of the building.

Haunted Tours

Waverly Hills knows that they are a premier destinations for people who are intrigued by the paranormal, so they host tours throughout the year where you can go and explore the building that once housed many patients, and where it's said thousands also died. Every October Waverly  Hills transforms from the paranormal haunts, to a haunted attraction.

If you're a thrill seeker, every October Waverly Hills Sanatorium transforms into a haunted attraction.  It's the one time of year they pull out all the stops and decorate for Halloween and fill the place with scare actors.  If you enjoy scaring people and have always wanted to work for a haunted house, Waverly Hills is hosting auditions for haunted house actors.
