United Way of Ohio Valley Barrels of Heart Event Brings Unique Bourbon Experience to Owensboro

United Way of the Ohio Valley is an amazing organization working to bring people together to support fifty local non-profits in Daviess, Hancock, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster counties.  Through collective giving and collaboration, a whole range of services are provided to the area through Girls Inc, The Opportunity Center, the Senior Community Center, and more.  Their impact reaches diverse populations to promote health and education.

Barrels of HeART Fundraiser Event

To kickstart their 2023-2024 giving campaign they will be hosting a unique experience unlike any other right here in Daviess County.  Barrels of Heart is a fundraising event that features the rich bourbon heritage of Kentucky while celebrating talented local artists of the area.

Kentucky Bourbon With a Splash of Creativity

The first 70 guests who sign up for a free bourbon tasting will be able to enjoy a good pour of bourbon while mingling with guests or shopping for art and other unique items in the silent auction.  Yours Truly will be painting a bourbon barrel lid that will be up for grabs! The event will be topped off with a bourbon raffle, live music, and catered food all within a beautiful indoor and outdoor area among the hills and pasture landscaping of Daviess County's newest premier venue, Grand Stable.

Aaron Kizer Live Performance Art

The highlight of the evening will be a live speed painting performance from local artist, Aaron Kizer which will be auctioned off to the highest lucky bidder in what is sure to be an exciting live auction.  Guests will also have front-row seats for the unveiling of one of my favorite aspects of this event. Ten bourbon barrels have been delivered to ten local artists who are working their magic to turn them into incredible works of art as we speak. A community vote will determine the best of the barrels.
