It's one thing to hear the story, but it's another thing to see the location of infamous crimes in person.

True Crime

People naturally have a morbid curiosity, and I think that's part of the reason people are drawn to true crime.  There's an entire television network that's dedicated to telling stories of real crimes (Investigation Discovery), and over the past decade, true crime has reached even more popularity with podcasts and videos online, bringing the genre to an even wider audience.  Now true crime is hitting the road with a new bus tour.

True Crime and Ethics

I’ve always had an interest in true crime, but I do think it needs to be approached with care. As the genre has grown in popularity, so have important ethical concerns. These stories resonate because they’re real—real people, real trauma, real loss. That’s why it’s crucial to tell them responsibly, with respect for those affected, and without using tragedy as nothing more than entertainment.   With this in mind, there are ways to ethically tell stories and raise awareness in appropriate ways.  After looking at the website, it seems like Infamous Indy is taking care to be appropriate and accurate when sharing information about the darker parts of Circle City's past.
