I'm pretty sure it’s safe to say that this summer is shaping up to be one of Thomas Rhett‘s best EVER. The young singer-songwriter just found out he has been requested by Toby Keith to be one of the openers on the  Live in Overdrive Tour.

The tour will be the latest high-profile tour for the son of Rhett Akins, who has spent the past couple of years touring with the likes of Blake Shelton,  and  labelmate Brantley Gilbert.

“When I found out I was gonna be opening for Toby Keith, I couldn’t sleep for two days because I was so pumped,” Thomas Rhett said, beaming. “This is one of those tours that every new artist dreams about. I’m really excited to get back out on the road with my band and play these awesome amphitheaters with Toby. I feel extremely blessed to have been selected for such a huge tour! It’s gonna be a wild summer!”

Thomas has been in the studio putting the finishing touches on his debut country album. The album’s lead single  ‘Something to Do With My Hands,’ is AWESOME!!!!! The song’s video will make its premiere  April 27.
