The Most Scenic Drive in Indiana Will Leave You Full of Delicious Amish Food
This sounds like a delicious and beautiful Sunday drive for you and the family.
Indiana is known as "The Crossroads of America," mainly because the city of Indianapolis is the hub for several major Interstate highways that crisscross the state, connecting Hoosiers to the rest of the United States. Recently, the state of Indiana was named one of the best states in the entire country to drive in. While Indiana is full of roads that offer great scenery and make for a great Sunday drive, if you are looking for the best scenic route in the whole state, one website claims that they have found it.
The outdoor adventure website, Thrillist recently unveiled its list of the most scenic drives in every state, just in time for your next fall weekend getaway. When it comes to the most scenic route in Indiana, it can be found in the heart of Amish Country.
The Most Scenic Drive in Indiana
Thrillist says that the most scenic drive in all of Indiana is Barn Quilt Trail, in LaGrange County. Here, you will be surrounded by Amish communities full of great food, unique sights, and hence the name, quilts too. Thrillist has this to say about Barn Quilt Trail:

Come on down to LaGrange County, Indiana, and live like the Amish do for a weekend (or at least, you know, see how the Amish live). Along this route—which is a little more like a region, touching six different small towns all specializing in the cozy art of quiltmaking—you’ll run into a number of spots selling colorful homemade blankets, fresh farm goods, and more.

Although the area is primarily farmland, there’s still plenty of unique fun to be had. After all, how often is it that you get to gaze upon classic barns decorated with enormous quilted murals, dine out on Amish baked goods like jams and pies, and soak in the quiet, simple beauty of a landscape like this?

As someone who grew up around the Amish, let me tell you...the food is absolutely amazing! Not to mention the communities are beautiful, especially around the fall. You'll definitely be bringing some goodies home with you after taking a drive down this scenic route. Just watch out for horses and buggies!
