What's your go-to steakhouse and have you ever been to this one before?

Indiana has no shortage of great restaurants that have been open for years. These restaurants have become staples in that area where people must go whenever they are in town. They are restaurants that can even become bucket-list places to dine at. Whether it be comfort food, burgers, fried chicken, seafood, Italian, Mexican, steakhouses, or any other type of restaurant, there are certain places that stand out among the rest. Out of all of the possibilities, it can be somewhat difficult to decide where you want to go to eat. Personally, I would never turn down a good steak.  According to a survey in this Fox News story, I'm not alone. The survey says that steak is America's favorite meal, and steak is also what nearly 66 percent of Americans say they would have as their LAST meal too.

So, if you love steak as much as the average American, you have probably dined at a steakhouse here in Indiana multiple times. We all have our go-to steakhouses, but have you ever been to the best steakhouse in the United States? I know that is a pretty subjective topic, but one website recently claims to have found the best steakhouse in America, and it might shock you.

The Best Steakhouse Chain in the U.S.

This new survey from Tasting Table, recently found the best steakhouse chain in America. So how did they come up with these results? Tasting Table said they started by looking at the steakhouse chains in the U.S. that had at least 30 locations. (That rules out the iconic St. Elmo Steakhouse in Indianapolis). Tasting Table then poured over various online searches, surveys, and reviews and compiled their results in a list of the top 13 steakhouse chains in the country.

Now, I would have guessed that Texas Roadhouse would have been at the top of this list. While it did make the top thirteen, it was near the bottom, surprisingly. The best steakhouse chain in America, according to Tasting Table, happens to have only one location in Indiana. That honor goes to the Capital Grille.

If you are like me, you have probably never heard of Capital Grille. Unlike some of the other chains on this list, there aren't that many locations in the United States. There are currently a little over 75 locations in America, and only one in Indiana (which is in Indianapolis). Here's what Tasting Table said about Capital Grille:

The menu features various steak cuts, of course, such as filet mignon, bone-in ribeye, and dry-aged New York strip. But there's also the choice of more elegant dishes, such as porcini rubbed bone-in ribeye, gorgonzola-crusted New York strip with a wine reduction sauce, and tenderloin with lobster tails.

So, would you agree or disagree with the Captial Grille being named the best chain steakhouse in America? You can check out the top 13 chain steakhouses in full detail by clicking here.
