Kentucky was once home to a thriving bear population. But things took a nosedive in the early 1900s due to habitat loss, rampant hunting, and a lack of protected areas. According to the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife, the black bear population is on the up and up, and it's happening fast.

Yesterday's 5.8 earthquake certainly rattled everyone up and down the east coast and in to Canada. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported so, that makes things a little easier. The east coast is not used to to this type of quake activity, the last one was in1944 and the last one in this particular area I believe was 1897.
