I am totally overwhelmed by the support we've had this year for the Songs For St. Jude Free concerts at Hawg N Sauce.  In just cash donations, we've raised nearly $2,300 this year.  Last night, however was living proof of why we do what we do with St. Jude!

We are putting an exclamation point on the Songs For St. Jude Free Concert Season this Thursday night at Hawg N Sauce BBQ And Grill in Mt. Vernon, Indiana with 'Girls With Guitars.'  This entirely female lineup will include Julie Roberts, JoAnna Smith Eldridge, Ruthie Collins, and Jaclyn Graves.

The Songs For St. Jude Concert Series gets kicked off for the season Thursday night at Hawg N Sauce BBQ in Mt. Vernon with Ray Scott!  Ray will follow in the footsteps of artists like Craig Campbell, Heidi Newfield, Dylan Scott, and Maggie Rose that have all been there for these shows.  Take a look at some of the highlights of the past!

A big thanks to Joanna Smith and Clare Dunn for performing last Friday night at Hawg N Sauce as we raised more cash for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  It was another big night, as we took in over $1000 for the kids, and finished off the night with lots of karaoke, drinks, and BBQ celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Hawg N Sauce!

This Friday, it's another Songs For St. Jude Free Concert at Hawg N Sauce in Mt. Vernon, as two of Nashville's budding female singer/songwriters will perform on the patio!  JoAnna Smith and Clare Dunn are coming to Mt. Vernon, but before they do, check out their past performances right here in the WKDQ studios!

This year we are bringing great live music to Hawg N Sauce BBQ in Mt. Vernon.  The shows are free to get in, but we'll be accepting donations for St. Jude and 10% of all food and beverage sales go to the charity as well.  Our second show in the series will be JoAnna Smith with Clare Dunn, Friday night, June 13th at 7:30pm!

Through 2013, plenty of songs have come and gone and become big hits.  But for every song that hits the top 10, there are hundreds more that don't, much less see the light of day.  Here are my personal choices for the songs that should have been a bigger hit on country radio in 2013...

I had another first-time experience broadcasting my show live from backstage at the historic Ryman Auditorium, which hosted Opry Country Classics on Thursday night.  The show included a performance from my dear friend, JoAnna Smith, who paid tribute to the ladies of the Country Music Hall of Fame like Dolly, Patsy, and Tammy!  She also did us the courtesy of singing one of her songs backstage.  Ch

So far this year with Hawg N Sauce BBQ, we have raised over $2000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with the Songs For St. Jude Concert Series.  September 20th, we close out the series for the summer  with a triple treat of female singer/songwriters for Girls With Guitars, as JoAnna Smith, Morgan Frazier, and Amber Hayes take the stage together.

Three wins so far for JB and the Moonshine Band, as they have their sights set on the Hall of Fame, but to get there, they will have to get past a former Hall of Fame member, and one 'Crazy' girl at that, JoAnna Smith!

I just looked at my Twitter account, and realized that on June 12th of this year, I told JoAnna Smith, i wanted to be in one of her famous Road-isodes on her website.  A lot of teasing and several months later, she has not only included me in her year-end Road-isode Randoms, but she put me in there 3 times.
