They say you never forget your first time.  When it comes to the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, this is especially true.  I remember 3 years ago, when I first set foot onto West Franklin, I was overwhelmed as most are.  I suggest these 5 simple rules when making your first Fall Festival excursion.

One of my favorite things about the Fall Festival is getting to meet up with the great volunteers that work the booths to help their causes.  On Tuesday I had a ton of fun with two different groups on West Franklin.

Day number two is in the books on the 90th Annual West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.  This hungry DJ dug into not only a sandwich with kangaroo meat, called a Sloppy Joey, but I also enjoyed a delicacy called a 3 Alarm Buffalo Spam'itch.  Oh and did I mention the Deep Fried Thin Mints...

The smells of fried food is in the air, and the Fall Festival has begun on West Franklin Street.  Posted up at our regular corner at 11th and Franklin, on Monday, I met up with some great folks and enjoyed not only Deep Fried Koolaid, but also Bacon Brownies.

Jon Prell / WKDQ The 90th Fall Festival got underway today on the West Side and they have many new food items in addition to the usual fare. One thing that is great and reasonably friendly in terms of calories is the 'Haystack', which is basically a taco salad with small fritos and chili and it tastes great. The 'Haystack' is available at booth #4, 30, 42,47,52,76 and 84.
