When it comes to things I love doing most in life, decorating my home for holidays is always high on the list. I have a ridiculous amount of holiday storage totes, and if you don't feel like you're in the North Pole when you step into my home at Christmas I will not be happy. The one decorating aspect I haven't tried yet though is an outdoor, synchronized light show.

Holiday lights synchronized to music may be nothing new, but seeing a themed light show incorporating movie/television footage too is definitely something you don't see every day, and won't want to miss in Illinois this year!

One Illinois Family Has Mastered the Art of Holiday Light Shows

In the town of Cortland, Illinois, located about 3 miles outside of DeKalb, you will find the Caravia Family Light Show.

In 2021 the Caravia family designed phenomenal themed light shows for both Halloween and Christmas, and it looks like they're on a mission to outdo themselves in 2022.

Here is their 2021 Halloween Light Show:

Their 2021 Christmas Show had a National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation theme complete with a Cousin Eddie...

And on Saturday, October 1, the Caravia's debuted their 2022 'Stranger Things' Halloween Light Show...(beware, this video does come with a Stranger Things spoiler alert)

Isn't that so cool?!?

If you NEED to see the Caravia Family Light Show in person you can do so every night in October starting at 7 p.m. at  687 N. Goldenrod St. in Cortland, Illinois.

Caravia family, congratulations on another fabulous show! We'll see you soon and can't wait to see what you come up with this year for Christmas!
