A popular restaurant in Evansville has announced that the business is for sale, after being in business for 40 years.

Stockwell Inn has been a little hidden gem in Evansville for four decades. This place is known for its delicious food, ranging from burgers, pizzas, strombolis, tenderloin sandwiches, brain sandwiches, and various daily plate specials. Stockwell Inn has been owned and operated by the Will family for the past 40 years, and has been a local hotspot ever since. However, the owners announced on social media that the business is now for sale.

Stockwell Inn Is For Sale

According to a post from the Stockwell Inn on Facebook, the business is now for sale. The Facebook post reads:

Ever wanted to own a bar?! Now is your chance!
After being in our family for 40 years we are putting Stockwell Inn up for sale.
Stockwell Inn is a staple in Evansville & it's time for someone new to take the reins & let this old girl retire.
Includes the business, the building & property, 3 way liqour license, catering license & gaming license & also inventory.
If you are a serious buyer messege me for more details.
The sale of the business comes just two months after reducing its regular business hours, among other tough decisions, due to the road construction in front of the building since January. The announcement, at that time, also mentioned that the business was told "it will be 2 more months we are going to have to make some changes." Two months later, a decision was made.

It's heartbreaking that the family is having to sell the business. I mean, the restaurant has survived some hard times over the past 40 years, but it always remained a business that locals talk about. I have had the privilege of eating there several times, and the food has always been absolutely amazing. Hopefully, that continues to be the case with whoever purchases Stockwell Inn.
