America To Be Celebrated In St. Louis With Free Music

In case you haven't heard yet, the 4th of July this year is a little special. In fact, it's the 250th preverbial birthday of America! Multiple cities across the country will host their own special celebrations, but my vote for the best is right here in the Midwest, under the St. Louis arch. Make plans to spend the 4th of July weekend in St. Louis this year, and check out the cool events you can be a part of! The big draw? Free music both nights of the weekend! How could anyone pass up a free Miranda Lambert concert? Let's take a look at who is coming.

Who Is Playing The Free Concerts?

Both nights of the weekend will feature free concerts on the lawns beneath The Arch. The fun kicks off Friday night with Zedd, Big Wild, and Ludacris. On Saturday, the lawns will be filled with music as soon as the gates open at 2 pm. Headlining the evening will be the queen herself, Miranda Lambert. However, the rest of the acts are nothing to smirk at! Kenny Loggins, Rebirth Brass Band, and the son of legendary artist Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, will be performing. Don't forget...this is all free!

Celebrate All Weekend With These St. Louis Events

While the free music is clearly the draw to this event, the amount of cool stuff going on during this event is mind-bending. Start your festive day Saturday with the downtown parade, head over to Ballpark Village to check out the antique car show, then take a look at Innovation Village, an interactive experience created by St. Louis innovators. There will be F-15 simulators on site if you've ever wanted to know what flying a fighter jet feels like. According to the website, these are the same simulators used to train fighter pilots. With all of today's new technology, if you have not seen a drone show yet, put it on your bucket list! Or just check it out in St. Louis during this festive weekend. Both nights of the event will include a simulated drone show featuring 1,500 drones, dancing across the Mississippi River with The Arch as their background. Saturday will also include a special ceremony honoring our active duty service men and women and veterans. Rated one of the top ten firework shows in the country by USA Today, the weekend will conclude Saturday evening with the annual fireworks.

20 Things Miranda Lambert Has Done in the Last 20 Years

Miranda Lambert has been a busy woman since her debut studio album Kerosene arrived in 2005. In addition to several more albums and tours, the country singer scratched her entrepreneurial itch by starting a line of clothing and opening a bar.

She's also continued to wear her heart on her sleeve with her MuttNation Foundation, which is dedicated to helping animals. These are just a few of the things Lambert has done, both personally and professionally, in the last 20 years.
