Shawnee Cave Amphitheater

Located in Murphysboro, Illinois is an extremely unique venue, the Shawnee Cave Amphitheater.  I've been to the Shawnee National Forrest before, and so I knew there were some seriously cool rock formations around the area, but I had NO idea that there was a venue like this.  The natural rock formations have basically made an amphitheater, and it's hands down one of the most unique venues I've ever seen.

The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater is a beautiful natural rock formed amphitheater.  The stage area is covered by a rock bluff that perfectly amplifies sound.  The seating is open-air and surrounded by amazing rock formations, a waterfall, and diverse vegetation. We are located at 3747 IL-127 Murphysboro, IL.  Situated on Illinois-127 8 miles south of Murphysboro we are just minutes from the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, The Shawnee National Forest and many lakes, hiking trails and other outdoor activities.

 

Weekend at the Cave

With a venue like this, you know there has to be something cool happening, and it turns out that once a year, there is! The Shawnee Cave Amphitheater hosts a music festival, Weekend at the Cave, and it's a full weekend of incredible scenery, good tunes, and one incredible venue.

Weekend at the Cave 2023 will take place from Friday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 25th.  The lineup includes popular names in bluegrass, newgrass, folk, funk, jam, and much more!
