The American Red Cross is always in need of donations, whether it be blood, cash, food, clothes or supplies. The Red Cross is funded entirely through donations and receives no government funding whatsoever, which is why what they do is so important. They are on the scene immediately when disaster hits and they are on the ground in full force right now in New York, New Jersey and several other eastern states in the wake of Sandy, one of the most devastating storms the eastern seaboard has ever seen. When disaster hits, we all want to help in any way that we can as we have done countless times right here in the Tri-State. The need is huge as a massive clean-up effort begins in the areas devastated by Sandy.

Leslie and I had our local Red Cross chapter on the air this morning and they said the best things you can donate right now are cash and blood. Supplies and food are awesome, but in most cases, a couple of hundred trucks rolling into devastated areas loaded with supplies can be a problem. It can take days to determine exactly what is needed and how much, which is why cash donations are the best.

Once they have determined what is needed, it is so much easier for the Red Cross to draw from it's monetary donations and buy or provide exactly what is needed quickly and efficiently.

If you want help those affected by Sandy, make a monetary donation now and any amount is greatly appreciated. Every single dollar donated will provide much needed relief. To make a monetary donation, click here.
