Real Life “Happy” Gilmore is Headed to This Indiana College to Play Golf
Even if you are not a fan of Adam Sandler's movies or his brand of humor, it's hard to not like Happy Gilmore. And even if you're not crazy about the iconic golf comedy, you can't deny how quotable it is. Many people consider Happy Gilmore to be Sandler's best movie, and over 25 years later, it is still synonymous with golf - in fact, that movie is the reason for this article.
This amazing story comes from Bloomington, Indiana, which is home to a very talented golfer - a recent high school graduate named Landon James Gilmore. You can see where this is going, right? With a last name like that, this young man was destined to play golf, and when you're as good as he is (a two-time All-State golfer), you are destined to earn the nickname "Happy."
Happy recently shared some exciting news on Twitter about the next stage of his life, which involves college and golf. Here's what he wrote...
I am very excited to announce that I have committed to continue my academic and golf career at Ball State University. I am very grateful for the opportunity Coach Fleck has given me! I would like to thank my family, my friends and coaches who push me everyday!
A word of advice to Landon, er, um, I mean Happy - remember to just tap it in...just taaaaap it in.
