One Kentucky attraction is somehow the most boring tourist trap in the state. Let's see if you agree.

Kentucky is full of fun attractions. Whether it be museums, theme parks, sports venues, historical locations, or being out on a beautiful lake, the Bluegrass State has a lot to offer residents and guests alike. We all have our favorite attractions to visit in the state. However, when it comes to tourist traps in Kentucky, you might not want to waste your money at one place, according to one website.

Boring Tourist Traps

The term "boring" can mean something different to every traveler. What is exciting to one person might be a complete bore to someone else. There's a reason why there are so many possibilities when it comes to tourist attractions. That being said, you might visit a destination based on elements that are intriguing to you, only to arrive and find a place very different from what you initially anticipated. A lot of times, these places are known as "tourist traps."

The website, Cheapism, talked to travel bloggers and industry professionals and read online reviews to identify tourist traps in every state. According to Cheapism:

Some are iconic locales now overrun or overrated. Others lure road trippers out of the way of their intended destinations. They might be cheesy, inauthentic, overpriced, crowded, boring, ugly, or just plain not worth the time.

So, what is the most boring tourist trap in Kentucky? Well, it may or may not be what you'd expect.

The Most Boring Tourist Trap in Kentucky

According to Cheapism, the most boring tourist trap in Kentucky is the Ark Encounter in Williamstown. This place has become widely popular over the past few years, as it is a hotspot for many tourists.

At the Ark Encounter, not only will you get to step inside the wooden replica of Noah's Ark, but you can also enjoy animal encounters, seasonal events, concerts, and a pretty unique VR experience.

So, why is this the most boring tourist trap in Kentucky? Well, here's what Cheapism had to say:

Opened in July 2016, Ark Encounter promises to bring the Biblical story of Noah's Ark to life. The recently completed, wooden replica of the ship was built according to dimensions provided in the Bible — 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. Some visitors find the admission prices big as well, especially after construction won government tax breaks: An adult ticket is $65, admission for youngsters is $32, and visitors also pay for parking and activities inside the park, such as a $60 zip line experience. "I don't see how families can afford it," one reviewer writes on TripAdvisor.

So, apparently, it's overpriced? I can't say as I have never been. That being said, several people that I know have visited the Ark Encounter before and loved it. Again, to each their own. But do you feel like this is the most boring tourist trap in Kentucky, or do you think it was actually worth the price of admission?

You can take an inside look at the Ark Encounter below.

See Inside the Ark Encounter in Kentucky

If you've ever heard the story about Noah's Ark or read the book of Genesis, you probably wondered how Noah could fit all of the animals on the ark? Or, better yet, how did he feed and care for all of them?

The massive seven-story timber ark replica is full of amazing exhibits aimed at not only wowing its visitors but also serving as an educational experience that may answer questions surrounding the story of Noah's ark and the Flood. Visitors may even leave feeling inspired or thinking differently about this well-known Biblical account.

You can purchase tickets in advance for the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum on their website. For the remainder of 2022, kids that are 10 and under recieve free admission. Also, be sure to check out their hours. If you plan to visit during evening hours, you will catch the ark completely lit up in rainbow LED lights.
