October Isn't Just a Month - It's Postseason and All The Feels Come With It

The boys have been separated from the men. The final teams have survived a grueling 162-game regular season. Every at-bat is a little scarier, every strike a little stronger, and the hustle is at its annual all-time high. For us baseball fans, this is our favorite time of year—the Postseason. The hot dogs taste a little better, the beer is just a bit colder, and the wins are that much more amazing.  As MLB (Major League Baseball) says, "October Hits Different".  Because if you win in October, that means you're one step closer to the ultimate baseball dream...winning a World Series.

The "Hit Man" Continues Success As Bench Coach

Evansville's own Donnie Baseball (Don Mattingly) may be retired from playing. Still, as the Bench Coach for the Toronto Blue Jays, he's already punched his ticket to the ALCS (American League Championship Series), just one series away from every baseball player's dream...the Fall Classic. Mattingly spent his entire professional career with one team, the New York Yankees —a rare feat that few professional players achieve. While the Yankees hold the record for most World Series championships, Mattingly unfortunately never achieved the dream of winning a World Series title.  Mattingly's only Postseason run as a player came in 1995 against the Seattle Mariners.  Mattingly hit a tie-breaking double in the final game of the series to give the Yankees hope, but the bullpen couldn't pull through, and a devastating 11th-inning loss sent the Yankees home and Mattingly eventually into retirement.  Hopefully, this year's Blue Jays can bring it home for Toronto and Evansville's own, Don Mattingly.  Get your foam fingers unfolded, rally hats ready, and best trash talk prepared.  It's Postseason baseball, baby!
