If there's one positive that has come out of the coronavirus pandemic, it's how those of us who are capable to do so are so willing to help those who aren't able to help themselves. However, wanting to help and finding someone in the Evansville area who needs it can be a bit of task. If only there were some type of resource where you could let someone know you want to help, and they could put you in touch with someone who has asked for it. Like a dating site, but without the dating part. Oh wait! There is such a thing.

Need a Neighbor.org is a collaboration between "For Evansville, Inc., Community One, Inc., Impact Upgrade, and local Christian churches in the Evansville, Indiana region" that gives someone who needs assistance in some fashion get that assistance from someone who wants to provide it. That help could be in the form of delivering groceries to someone spending all their time at home because they're in the high-risk category for contracting COVID-19, providing a meal of some type for that individual, or simply giving them a call from time to time to see how they are holding up.

To volunteer, simply visit the website and click the "Volunteer" button and follow the steps provided. If you or someone you know could use assistance in some way, click the "Request Help" button on the site.

As of this writing, 127 needs have been completed, 61 are in progress, and 25 are unassigned meaning those needs have yet to be filled.
