The city of Evansville will host the annual National Night Out next Tuesday, August 7th where our citizens will unite with local law enforcement to build camaraderie and demonstrate our anti-crime and drug stance.

Our participation in National Night Out represents our pro-active involvement and our commitment to preserving our quality of life. It is a great opportunity to continue to build a relationship between our community and local law enforcement.

This year's event in Wesselman Park at 6pm will feature a full K-9 demo, SWAT team demo, Bomb demo, Motorcycle demo and Fraud presentation by Bunco.

In addition, 12 lucky people will win the opportunity to ride with officers on the EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operation Course) in the Roberts Stadium parking lot. All are invited and admission is absolutely free.

National Night Out happens every year on the first Tuesday in August and has been around since 1984. The opportunity for law enforcement and members of the community to sit and get to know each other and discuss how we can work together to make things better is something we do not do enough of.
