These are the Most Dangerous Cities in Kentucky for 2025
Recent data has revealed the ten most dangerous cities in Kentucky. The results are a little surprising in some cases.
When you think of Kentucky overall, you don't really associate it with crime. Sure, criminal acts happen all of the time, but that's not typically the stereotype that goes with Kentucky. I mean, the Bluegrass State isn't even one of the most dangerous states in the country, when compared to national crime statistics. No matter what state you live in, there are always certain places that you want to avoid due to how dangerous some of the neighborhoods are, and Kentucky is no exception.

The folks over at Reolink recently determined the ten most dangerous places to live in Kentucky. This isn't one of those things that is based on opinion; in fact, they used cold, hard data to come to their conclusion. Reolink used FBI crime data and local police reports to identify risk patterns in Kentucky's most problematic municipalities. The home security website focused on the crime rate per thousand people to rank the top ten.

So, what are the most dangerous cities in Kentucky? Some of these aren't too much of a surprise to many within the state. However, there are a few cities on this list that made me think, "That doesn't sound right." In any event, let's take a look at the most dangerous cities in Kentucky according to Reolink.

Are you surprised? I'll admit that it was kind of shocking for me to see some of these cities on the list. Places like Owensboro and Hopkinsville, which are close to where I live, were a big "wait a minute" kind of moment for me. Not only that, but the fact that Louisville was number four on the list when it was just ranked as one of the 25 most dangerous cities in the United States. I feel like that would make it number one in Kentucky by default, right?
Even with that information, I wouldn't let these findings deter you from visiting some of these places. These cities have so much to offer folks in the area. Although I would be cautious about entering some areas if they seem a little "off". There are still some pretty cool places to shop, visit, eat, and drink in all of these towns that are worth checking out.
