Surrendered several months ago as a new mom with her 8 kittens, ALL of whom were also orange, and all of whom are already adopted. Poor mom was left behind, as usual.

VHS at the Fall Festival:

- need night shift volunteers next week, particularly Saturday night, 6-10 pm. Interested, mail events@vhslifesaver.org to sign up.

- participate in the Pet Parade! It’s free! Saturday the 12th, judging at 9:00 am at St. Boniface Church. Dress your kids & pets up in costume.

The VHS just started a “Catnado” adoption special. Half-off. Now, though the end of the August. So these guys are $30 each. Vaccinated and spayed or neutered before going home.We have more than 320 cats and it’s imperative that we keep making space. Even if 10 get adopted out the front in one day, it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll have 10 more coming in the back door at the same time! Feline intake is scheduled almost into October right now because there are so many families in this same situation.

Now accepting corporate volunteer groups for our Fall Festival booth! Day & night shifts available for groups of 2-7 people. We depend heavily on the money that our super-busy vegetarian booth raises, and we can’t do it without the hands fryin’ the green tomatoes and shakin’ the shake-ups! The VHS now has several litters of kittens in foster care and even a few at the shelter ready for adoption, so the “Kitten Season Please Help” plea begins now. Foster homes are needed. For kittens by themselves, and also for moms with kittens. Fostering is 100% free. We provide everything INCLUDING food (not all organizations do.) Fostering is also not indefinite with us. The goal is for you to have the kittens as short a time as possible until they can come back to the shelter for adoption — the littler they are, the more people want them. You will not have the same foster animals for years on end.
