Meet the VHS Pet of the Week – Bud
Allow us to introduce you to this week's Pet of the Week from the Vanderburgh Humane Society! See him in action!
More info about him -
Buuud. He’s our longest resident canine right now. He was found as a stray April 30th, with a red collar & no microchip. Still no one ever came to reclaim him, so here he sits! We have him as a mixed-breed, since we obviously have no idea what he’s mixed with. Perhaps some Husky with those bright blue eyes? Otherwise, no telling. We think he’s about 6 based on his teeth. He does fine with other dogs at Cardio for Canines. Not sure on cats yet but we can introduce him.His quirkiest trait is that he loves to be on things. You see him get on the chair in the video, and whenever you walk by his kennel he’s almost always sitting nicely on his bed. Not laying — sitting. He seems like he’s used to being on somebody’s couch. Do you have a spare cushion?
Adoption fee $110.
The VHS just started a “Catnado” adoption special. Half-off. Now, though the end of the August. So these guys are $30 each. Vaccinated and spayed or neutered before going home.We have more than 320 cats and it’s imperative that we keep making space. Even if 10 get adopted out the front in one day, it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll have 10 more coming in the back door at the same time! Feline intake is scheduled almost into October right now because there are so many families in this same situation.
Now accepting corporate volunteer groups for our Fall Festival booth! Day & night shifts available for groups of 2-7 people. We depend heavily on the money that our super-busy vegetarian booth raises, and we can’t do it without the hands fryin’ the green tomatoes and shakin’ the shake-ups! Email events@vhslifesaver.org to inquire!
