Winter Woods Spectacular

Last year my husband and I took our son to Louisville to check out the Winter Woods Spectacular, and let me tell you, it was incredible! The woods at Iroquois Park were transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland.   It was absolutely beautiful.

My husband and I have been talking about taking another trip over to Louisville to see the Winter Woods Spectacular again. Now that Riley is two and really loves the Christmas lights we thought it would be perfect for him this year.  So I hopped online and couldn't find any information about the Winter Woods Spectacular happening in 2023.  Unfortunately, it seems 2022 was the final year for the event.

Winter Woods Spectacular Says Goodbye

After some Googling, I found myself on the Winter Woods Spectacular Facebook page and unfortunately found that back in March they announced that they would be discontinuing the Winter Woods Spectacular.  I can imagine an event like this is a massive undertaking especially when it starts less than a month after their massive Jack O' Lantern Spectacular, I mean look at these lights, I'm sure set up took ages!

'The show must go on' is our usual mantra, but our team has made the difficult decision to step away from Winter Woods Spectacular in order to focus our efforts in other areas.

We will continue to work hard to bring you the unique experiences you love, such as Jack O' Lantern Spectacular and the Parks For All Initiative.

We have enjoyed getting to know you and your friends and family over the years, and hope to see you at the Jack O' Lantern Spectacular this fall!

Talk about bummed! The Winter Woods Spectacular was a seriously great time, and my husband and I were super excited to go back again this year.  While I was saddened to hear about the end of Winter Woods, I am excited that the Jack O' Lantern Spectacular will carry on, because that's such a unique event!
